The Alintler Horn Hunt
Who: All who arrived to participate!
When: Spring 8th, 8:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M.
Where: Gathering in the Square, proceeding on deep into the forest.
What: Jonah is taking the newcomers to the Cape on a mission: find at least two shed Alintler Horns in the forest.
Rating: Expected PG to PG-13 at highest - there may be wolf attacks and other need to use
Jonah was pleased and bemused by the gathering at the Square - a number of the ones that he'd expected to see, he apparently hadn't misread, and yet another who he hadn't (not actively thought wouldn't come, but either way hadn't anticipated) was there. He smiled, faintly, not at all challenging but excited. Less for the travail through the woods than for them. Some of these people were starting farms; it had been a week now and they were settling in as more than squatters. They were talented and active. And they - at least some of them - were also adventurous. It boded well every which way.
Even moreso after he reiterated and clarified the details of the job they'd gathered to do (they must go into the woods, find at least two Alintler horns on the ground between all of them, be ready to fight off wolves, feel free to try to get close to any less-feisty animals they may run into if they feel so inspired), stopped in their march out of the village by his house, and doled out choices of weapons - simple ones, rough blades and staffs and slingshots - and took names, which he mentally took down and took to heart with a clear picture of each respective face.
Where the woods became dense, he stopped them all, made his points one last time, and told them to team up and venture on in. He'd go off by himself, but rest assured, he wouldn't miss any calls for help, and he'd find them all every hour or two to check progress and lead everyone back when the time came. And then, as he said he would, he went.
"Good luck."
((OOC: Feel free to start threads at any location involved in the event - maybe your character would like to talk weapons on the way past Jonah's, or maybe you'd like to get straight to the woods; just label the subject line with your location! Have at it, everyone!))
